Trinity's Dietert and Hubenak named All-SCAC

San Antonio -- Trinity University Tigers Danielle Hubenak and Abby Dietert have been elected to the All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Second team.

Hubenak (San Antonio/Churchill), a senior guard, and Dietert (Cibolo, Texas/Steele), a junior forward, each made the All-SCAC Team for the third straight year.

Both players are part of Trinity women's basketball's record book.

Hubenak is the Tigers all-time leader in career assists (434), and is fifth in scoring (1,350 points).

Dietert has scored 1,087 points in her three-year Trinity career, and stands in ninth place on the scoring list. She needs three points to tie Kathy Bieser (1993-1997) and move to eighth place. Dietert is now the Tigers all-time leader in single-seasom free throws made, with 115.

Trinity (14-13) beat Rhodes 85-51 Friday in the SCAC Championship Tournament quarterfinals Friday at Jackson, Miss. The defending champion DePauw Tigers were 73-53 winners in Saturday's semifinals.

What a great first week of practice! The work everyone did in the off-season is really paying off as we start to really get into the swing of things. Our freshmen have been doing amazing so far and all of us returners can’t wait to play in a game with them. We are also thrilled about the newest addition to our coaching staff, Marvin, who is going to help take our team to the next level. Every day we’ve been learning new plays and getting better at the fundamentals, all the while getting to know each others’ playing styles. The team building we did last weekend was awesome, and I can’t say enough positive things about the group we have this year. As we get ready for the scrimmages we have coming up soon, everyone is really getting excited to see what we are going to look like when it all comes together. If practice is any indication, then it’s going to be a good year. Check back soon for more updates!

Dr. Ahlburg's Inauguration

Friday October 22nd celebrated the inauguration of Trinity's newest president Dr. Dennis Ahlburg. To celebrate the team attended the campus wide picnic and posed beside the guest of honor. Thanks for your support Dr. Ahlburg!

Coach Bradley on "Longhorns Unplugged"

Coach Bradley was a guest on the University of Texas Radio Show "Longhorns Unplugged" this past week. The broadcast aired on AM 760 "The Ticket" on Thursday night. Coach was asked about her time at UT, playing for the legendary Coach Conradt and the Exhibition Game Trinity will play at the University of Texas this season. The broadcast was aired live from the Yacht Club in San Antonio and several players came out to show their support for Coach.

First Year Move In!

It's an exciting time on campus this week as summer winds down and school kicks in to high gear. With our first years now all moved in and the upperclassmen back on campus the gym is flooded with the bouncing of balls as the first games of pick-up for the year are underway.

We are extremely excited about our class of 2014 and what they bring to our program. They truly are an eclectic crowd hailing from as far away as Minnesota and as close as nearby Spring Branch. Each brings a different background and an enthusiasm for Trinity Women's Basketball. We cannot wait for what this season holds.
